continuing the celebration of our  “sparkling ever after” contest (enter  here!), where one lucky bride-to-be will win a signed copy of style me pretty weddings by abby larson, $545 in paperless post credits and coins, a $500 kate spade new york gift card and four cases of our special-edition sparkling brut rosé made by domaine carneros, we shine a spotlight on a girl we truly adore: abby larson, editor and founder of style me pretty, and author of style me pretty weddings:

truth is, i love weddings: “i cry at every wedding. i have the biggest grin of anyone during the first dance and the father’s toast. my friends know that they have at least one person that is going to sincerely notice and gush over every last detail that they crafted or thought of. i don’t think that i’ll ever really tire of weddings. they will always be will always be a first love of mine.”

how i got my start as a wedding blogger: “i had recently sold my wedding invitation line and was looking for a new opportunity in the wedding space. i envisioned something magazine-like—creating beautiful, edited content—but in an online format; where brides could continue to feed their inspiration throughout the day. about four months in, with one wonderful employee who is still with s.m.p. today, we launched the idea for our little black book, a collection of our favorite wedding vendors around the globe. the book helped us take the larger concept that we had for the site and transform it into what it is today.”

what inspired me to write style me pretty weddings: “we wanted something as beautiful as a coffee table book but as practical and approachable as the beloved domino book. we wanted brides to have a portable style me pretty, a perfect little something that they could tuck into their bags and bring with them to meetings with vendors or lunches with moms. we wanted it to be inspirational and yet practical, beautiful and yet totally approachable.”

what brides-to-be will see in my book that they won’t find on the website: “our book really aims to pare that down and deliver timeless-with-a-twist blueprints for all different bridal styles—from whimsical to classic, rustic, modern and al fresco. the book has stories from real brides, tips and ideas from the pros, inspiration for color palettes, fashion, details and so much more.”

we learned some things along the way, too: “whittling down the gorgeous weddings that came through the door when we announced our new endeavor was as impossible as impossible gets. but our agenda was to give all brides—no matter their budget or their personal style—a bit of forever inspiration. we had celebrity weddings, million dollar affairs, the works. but we chose weddings that we simply loved, no exception. and it reaffirmed that no matter what your budget—large or small—with a little bit of elbow grease, you can pull off an event that feels immensely personal and immensely lovely.”

for brides-to-be everywhere (and friends of brides-to-be), we asked abby to curate a little capsule set from our current collection, for each of the bride styles featured in her book.

enjoy! (and double cheers to abby!)
