ready for a holiday?

one of our favorite magazines has returned after a very long…holiday

american travel magazine, holiday, ran from 1946 to 1977 and employed some of the best writers and photographers of the era—joan didion earnest hemingway, john steinbeck, jack kerouac, henri cartier-bresson, slim aarons, et al—to cover one travel theme or destination per issue, separately, however they liked. the no-expenses-spared approach to journalism makes each issue, even today, essential reading.


so we did a little dance of joy when we saw that the  had been revived across the pond in paris under the direction of creative director franck durand as a biannual. while it covers more than the original, the underlying ethos remains the same. have a peek at the latest issue above, and some of our most favorite covers from the original run, below:
