paint the town: the 2012 cfda awards

see deborah and brad get prepped for fashion’s biggest night

monday evening was the fashion industry’s version of the oscars, as the council of the fashion designers of america (cfda) held their annual awards bash. we snapped some pre-party pictures as kate spade new york creative director deborah lloyd and her date, brand stylist brad goreski, primped in our offices.

superstar stylist joshua ristaino was on hair and makeup duty, perfecting deborah’s summery glow as she did a quick costume change into a flame-red, one-of-a-kind kate spade new york cocktail frock (ooh la la!) and bulgari jewels. brad opted for a daring-yet-dapper custom suit made by legendary clothier martin greenfield (his bespoke garments have graced the likes of bill clinton and paul newman) in a japanese floral print by australian artist florence broadhurst. after a few final snips and tucks (scissors were the styling tool du jour this year), the glamorous duo were whisked off to lincoln center, where they struck a chic pose on the red carpet before moving on to the evening’s festivities. we’re already excited to tag along before next year’s fete!
