on march 8th kate spade new york team members around the world participated in some of the 464 women for women international (wfwi) bridge events celebrating the 100th anniversary of international women’s day. wfwi supporters in 70 different countries united on bridges in a show of solidarity and strength for women living in war-torn nations. we were inspired by photographs of brave women in places like afghanistan, congo, iraq and rwanda turning out to demand an end to the violence against and oppression of women in their own countries and around the world. zainab salbi, the founder and president of wfwi, led a group of more than 500 people—including a large contingent from our office—across new york’s brooklyn bridge and addressed the crowd with an inspiring call to action as we gathered in en masse at the end of the walk.
