get ready for a sugar high because in honor of our decadent color of the month (and with halloween just a week away!) we’ve whipped up a rich, dark roundup of our favorite melt-in-your-mouth chocolate treats.

1. fat witch brownies

3. bisous ciao dark chocolate macarons

4. mariebelle’s hot chocolate and kate spade new york caramels

5. georgetown cupcake’s chocolate2

with flavors like milk chocolate birthday cake and salted caramel, it’s hard to pick your favorite from the d.c. bakery’s mouthwatering menu, but after sampling one of everything, we think their classic chocolate2 (made with a combo of valrhona and whipped callebaut chocolate) takes the cake. chocolate2 cupcake, $2.75;

6. doughnut plant’s valrhona chocolate donut

for breakfast, get your day off to a sweet start with coffee and a valrhona chocolate donut from manhattan’s infamous doughnut plant. long the go-to spot to satisfy the carb cravings of hungry new yorkers, we love that their pastries are made with no trans fats, all-natural ingredients and family recipes that date back to the 1930s. valrhona chocolate donut, $2.50;
